Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a meticulous and dedicated Cost Controller to join a leading energy and natural resources company. The ideal candidate will excel in accounting and finance, with a focus on cost analysis and budget management.Client DetailsOur client is a well-established player in the energy and natural resources industry, boasting a team of over 5000 employees. The company have a global presence, offering premium services to a diverse and international clientele.Description

  • Responsible for accurate cost reporting, including Forecast, Value of Work Done and Commitments against approved Budget.
  • Responsible for set up, control, reporting
  • Ensure accurate monthly accruals submitted to Finance.
  • Ensure shared costs are re-allocated as appropriate, for recharge to partners.
  • Provide robust variance analysis.
  • Identify and support opportunities for cost efficiencies whilst maintaining safety and integrity.
  • Support annual budget build for relevant Budget area.
  • Monitor, review and advise on key vendor cost performance.
  • Lead and drive budget meetings with budget holders.
  • Champion compliance with supply chain and R2P processes
  • Participate in all appropriate internal and supplier meetings
  • Deputise for Cost Engineering Lead as required.
ProfileA successful Cost Controller should have:
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a cost control role within the energy and natural resources industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial software.
  • A solid understanding of financial regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • An detail-oriented approach to work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ambition and a strong desire to learn.
