Job Description

Teaching Assistant (ASD/SEMH)Accrington, Pupil Referral School£90-£115 per dayStarting ASAP - July 2025Tradewind are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to work in a Pupil Referral School in Accrington. The school specialises in educating students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting teachers in the classroom, providing support to individual students, and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. They will have experience working with students with ASDand SEMH needs and be able to adapt their teaching approach to meet the unique needs of each student.Duties will include:

  • Assisting teachers in the classroom and providing support to individual students
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Adapting teaching approach to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Working with students with ASD and SEMH needs
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff to develop and implement individualised education plans
Qualifications:
  • Experience working with students with ASD and SEMH needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching approach to meet the unique needs of each student
  • A passion for working with and helping students with special needs
