Steel DetailerJob RoleDue to our recent expansion, we have an opportunity for an experienced Steel Detailer to join our design team in Biggleswade. As part of the Steel Build design team, you will be using architectural and engineering drawings to turn our client’s design intentinto reality. You will be responsible for drawing GAs, assembly, and part drawings as well as material lists using a 3D package such as Tekla.The right candidate will have experience in Tekla and be able to demonstrate the ability to produce high quality metalwork drawings. You will be able to work as part of a team but also able to communicate with clients and stakeholders to find missing informationon your own initiative.Job Responsibilities • Read and understand drawings by structural engineers and architects.• 3D CAD modelling using Advance Steel or Tekla to product structural and architectural steelwork.• Creating approval drawings.• Raising RFIs for missing information.• Liaising with clients, engineers, architects, and fabricators.• Noting changes in design information and completing a variation of works form.• An understanding of document control.• Create full production packs to include BoM, drawings, and 3D views.Experience & Qualifications• Experience as a detailer essential.• Trained in modern software packages such as Tekla Structures.• A firm understanding of building regulations (Park K, Part M etc.)• Experience working for an architectural/structural steelwork company.• Ability to draw Balconies, Stairs, railings, balustrade, ladders, structural steel, balconies, canopies etc.• An understanding of online document portals such as Aconex, 4projects, Asite etc.Hours of work, pay and benefits • Permanent full-time position in our Biggleswade office• Competitive salary depending on experience• Pension scheme• Health insurance scheme.About the CompanySteel Build Ltd is an industry leader in the steel construction sector, delivering architectural and structural steelwork projects across London and surrounding counties.
