Our Llansamlet based manufacturing client requires a brand new Assistant HR Officer in a genuine, HR career development role. Recently created as part of a restructure of its HR and payroll functions, this position will be an integral part of the South Wales HR team. You will have direct involvement in general HR/HRIS activity for the 3 sites in South Wales which has a headcount of around 600 staff. This multi-sited business is the leading number one in its industry-type in the UK.The successful candidate will work closely with and report directly to the Head of HR in this competitive DEVELOPMENT opportunity. You will receive continuous developmental support, guidance, advice and mentoring plus your CIPD studies will also be supported. In return you must already have some HR and payroll experience behind you and be on the cusp of moving into an HR Officer role, which is where your ambitions lie. You should possess HR education standard of CIPD Level 3 ideally, not essential if you have strong experience.The role is largely generalist and will initially focus on the introduction of a new HR systems together with policy development. You will help and support the department in developing a welfare/soft skill HR approach regarding family friendly and long term absence support provision. You will also be involved in employee development and employee relations working with line management. A fantastic vacancy for the right person with the right attitude and appreciation of how rare this type of opportunity is in South Wales.Payroll forms part of the HR Dept so knowledge/experience of payroll is useful. You will need to know basic employment law and ideally have knowledge of Sage 50, and familiarity with T&A and HR record systems.
