Job Description

Digital Content EditorBirmingham, West MidlandsAs a Digital Content Editor, you will be responsible for adding and editing content to the Content Management System (CMS) and publishing digital content to the Gambling Commission’s website and digital services. You will ensure information is written in away that our users understand and enables them to confidently use our services and websites. As part of the Digital team, you will support the research and design of internal and external services and websites.The Benefits- Salary of £30,000.00 per annum- Civil service pension, with an employer contribution rate of 27%- Flexible working- Hybrid working with regular travel to Birmingham- 26 days’ holiday, rising to 29 days after 2 years’ service, with the option to buy up to five days extra annual leaveYour Role- It’s all about new website content and updates. You will regularly be working within the Content Management System (CMS) to input and publish updates.- It’s all about independently working at pace and the ability to be agile. You will be working to meet deadlines and at times be required to shift focus when priorities change.- It’s all about understanding and utilising content patterns. You will be following templates and patterns designed by Content Designers to publish high quality new content and updates to the Gambling Commission’s website and our digital services.- It’s all about accessible, accurate and consistent content. You will have a keen eye for detail and be responsible for reviewing and providing feedback on content created by other teams, subject matter experts and stakeholders.- It’s all about using research, insights and data. You will be data-led to evaluate and suggest improvements to content.- It’s all about helping our users get the information and service they need, in the way they need it. You will be able to recognise difficult concepts and work with Digital Content Designers to convert or translate it.- It’s all about being an active member of the Digital Content Team. You will be an ambassador for great content by supporting co-creation workshops and show and tell presentations.Person SpecificationYou will:- have excellent written communication skills- have experience of working within a CMS and be able to write basic HTML or markdown- be experienced in working methodically and following a process to ensure content is to a high standard- have a keen eye for detail and experience of proofreading- be confident working independently and proactively- be able to work collaboratively with others- have an interest in the user centric approach and a desire to learn and work in an open, iterative and collaborative way to share findings.
