Job Description

About the BusinessAn exciting opportunity to join a dynamic international professional services firm based in Birmingham. As a Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role within the Accounting and Tax team, actively contributing to the preparation of Group financialaccounts for both monthly reporting and the year-end audit. The business is progressive, offering agile working and providing room for progression.Working PatternThe business offers a great working pattern with agile working, which is a hybrid approach to office and remote working, with two/three days a week at home and two/three days a week in the office. The company are very flexible.Main DutiesFinancial Accounts

  • Become a key driver of change and finance transformation in the financial accounts team
  • Maintain the integrity of key accounting records across all Group entities and branches, encompassing balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments, fixed asset registers, bad debt provision, professional indemnity provision, and other generalledger adjustments.
  • Craft insightful month-end reports accompanied by comprehensive commentary, ensuring the effective management of budgets and forecasts.
  • Rigorously review and maintain the general ledger and associated reporting to provide a solid foundation for financial planning and decision-making.
Audit & Tax
  • Collaborate with external auditors to prepare Group audit working paper files and supporting documentation for consolidated accounts, ensuring the seamless completion of audit processes.
  • Assist Tax Accountants in gathering tax analysis for advisors and other tax compliance work, including quarterly VAT returns.
Business Partnering
  • Proactively support International Subsidiaries and Business Service teams by raising financial awareness and providing tailored financial information as required.
  • Deliver valuable management insights through informative reporting commentary, engaging presentations, and ad hoc financial analysis, empowering stakeholders across the business to make informed decisions.

  • A qualified ACA/ACCA with a demonstrated background in financial accounting, reporting or audit.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong command of Microsoft Excel.
  • Extensive experience in financial reporting, accounting, and tax.
  • Exceptional data analysis skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
