Job Description

Mobile HGV TechnicianSalary Range: Competitive, dependent on experienceJob Type: PAYE / Full-timeWorking Hours: Various contracts available:

  • Monday - Friday, 4/5 days per week, 10-12 hours per day
  • Weekend working Friday - Sunday, 10-12 hours per day
Location: Mobile (client sites)Our client, Titan Plant Hire, supports their civil engineering company, which is one of the leading airfield/ports/highway concrete paving companies in the United Kingdom. They have been successful in a bid to conduct civil engineering works at airports,highways, and docks throughout the country. They have recently expanded their site to allow external customers to bring their vehicles for all manners of repairs.Position Overview: They are looking for three HGV technicians capable of repairing and servicing a fleet of vehicles to a high standard. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a fresh challenge with a dynamic and rapidly growing company.Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, repair, and service HGV vehicles
  • Perform trailer repairs, especially lifting deck repairs
  • Carry out routine inspections, diagnostic work, and repairs of vehicles
  • Handle MOT preparation, defects, punctures, tyre changes, tyre cutting, welding, drilling, cutting, and more
  • Communicate effectively and liaise with site staff/managers
  • Organise workload, work on own initiative, and adhere to strict deadlines
  • Ensure awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements
  • Provide excellent customer service with experience in customer contact and interaction
Required Skills:
  • Proven experience working as an HGV technician with a relevant mechanical qualification or time served
  • Ability to maintain, repair, and service HGV vehicles
  • Experience in trailer repairs, especially lifting deck repairs
  • Ability to think on your feet and use your own initiative
  • Effective communication skills
  • A valid driving license with less than six points
Desirable Skills:
  • IRTEC license (not essential)
