This position will provide you with a key and integral role to the continued growth and success of Sopra Steria business.The Capability Lead will be responsible for leading the technology services capability which contains our most strategic vendor relationships with companies such as Oracle, SAP and Microsoft. This capability will link very closely with external vendors and lead the strategic direction of offerings that align us with the broader market and ensure the relevance of our skills & offerings.As well as managing the people in the capability, career direction, hiring and training the Capability Lead will also be accountable for utilisation of this team and the alignment of our delivery capability with the offshore teams.Key Responsibilities· Leading the technology services capability of around technical 180 people including developers, architects and analysts.· Relationship manager with our strategic vendor partners, working with the sales and proposition team, use vendors to push pipeline drive co-selling and our portfolio mix, training and certification which will help to define the skills & offerings roadmap .· Accountable as the business owner who ensures the right mix of skills to achieve utilisation targets which drive revenue.· Accountable as chief engineer who leads the technical resources to ensure quality of solution delivery and that recommended practices for the tools/code we are using are in place, ensure delivery meets fitness for technical purpose.· As one of the largest communities -ensure your people managers lead the community, develop their people, communicate, engage with resourcing and make them feel like they are part of a modern technical practice.· Working closely with our offshore teams to transform our technology community.· Design an organisation with the right balance of people management to ensure hiring, training, management are correctly carried out and in line with Sopra Steria values.Essential Skills· Extensive experience of driving technical strategy in an System Integrator or software vendor organisation.· Building alliances with product vendors.· Experience of leading technical teams on and offshore.· Technically proficient, can write technical strategy, up to speed on latest trends in technology.· Understanding of service delivery models.· Excellence in managing forecasting to minimise the bench and requirements on the use of contract resources.· Technical resource deployment in a continually evolving environment.· Line management of technical and operational resources.· Instigating and managing supply and demand controls.· Staff leadership and management; staff training and career development.Reasons why you should apply to us
