Job Description

We are looking for full and part-time Paid Volunteers, Befrienders & Companions in the Brentwood, Shenfield, Hutton, Upminster, Billericay, Ingatestone and surrounding villages of Essex. No previous experience is required as full training is provided. It is essential that you are a car driver. Job description As a Paid Volunteer, Befriender & Companion, you will be carefully matched to older adults in your local area and you will support them to remain independent both in their own home and by keeping them active in the local community. This would include:

  • Assisting with daily routines including mornings, lunchtimes and evenings and alternate weekends.
  • Assisting with personal care.
  • Prompting to take any medications.
  • Taking them out shopping or for some exercise.
  • Preparing meals and light household duties.
  • Being a reliable companion and someone, they can rely on.
    • You could be joining a CQC "Outstanding" service who focus on a companionship led care service. They have won multiple awards over the years and have built an excellent reputation within communities across the UK. This exceptional service is different to any other care organisation in the area, providing a minimum of 1-hour home visits to a purely private client base, but the focus being on companionship. The owner started the service after seeing the benefit that quality care had on his Grandmother, allowing her to be independent in her own home until the age of 92. Pay rate & hours
  • £10.00 - £11.50 per hour.
  • Pension scheme, paid holidays, & employee Assistance programme.
  • Part-time hours with mix of mornings, lunchtimes, afternoons, evenings, and alternate weekends.
