We are looking for full and part-time Paid Volunteers, Befrienders & Companions in the Brentwood, Shenfield, Hutton, Upminster, Billericay, Ingatestone and surrounding villages of Essex. No previous experience is required as full training is provided. It is essential that you are a car driver. Could you help June* June* is 84 years old, she has lived in on her own since her husband died 7 years ago and has always been independent. Last year, June had a fall whilst out shopping and it knocked her confidence somewhat. She stopped going out and even became scared of the stairs in her own house and would often sleep on the sofa rather than go to bed. She also wouldn’t leave her house, not even into the garden in case she had another fall. June* is typical of someone you would support. You would help her with daily routines that have become harder for her but also help to keep her independent and doing the things she has always done. This would be things like helping her with her morning, lunchtime, or evening routine, help her finished getting dressed or washed. Getting her a bit of shopping, keeping her home tidy, helping to prepare meals, and reminding her to take her medication. She also loves to bake, and it makes her so happy. She also loves a trip to the shops once things get back to normal. The Employer As a Paid Volunteer, Befriender & Companion, you could be joining a CQC "Outstanding" service who focus on a companionship led care service. They have won multiple awards over the years and have built an excellent reputation within communities across the UK. This exceptional service is different to any other care organisation in the area, providing a minimum of 1-hour home visits to a purely private client base, but the focus being on companionship. The owner started the service after seeing the benefit that quality care had on his Grandmother, allowing her to be independent in her own home until the age of 92. Pay rate & hours
