Job Description

* Please note this an 18 month fix term contractRole OverviewWorking in the General Ledger team as part of the Central Finance Service Centre, you will be involved in all areas of finance, supporting the local team but also the divisional finance teams and wider business.KeyResponsibilities

  • Manage a team of 3 individuals who all have range of responsibilities and wider business accountability.
  • Regularly catch up and mentor current members of staff whilst also checking their monthly workflow responsibilities to ensure accurate information is provided.
  • Be the main focus for Leases, rent & rates, prepayments and accruals accounting.
  • Supporting the team in the preparation of the cashbook and cashflow forecasting/reporting.
  • You will have personal and management responsibility to ensure reforecast deadlines are adhered to; checks in place to ensure accuracy and year on year comparison.
  • Responsible for your own monthly tasks but also for ensuring the team completes their monthly tasks that ensure management accounts are accurate across SAV(UK) businesses but also quarterlyGroup reporting in Hyperion - P&L and Balance sheet.
KeySkillsEssential Skills
  • Finalist or qualified accountant with some line management experience, who can constructively challenge the norm, having a solid track record in financial and management reporting.
  • Experience in administering financial processes, budgeting and forecasting
  • Able to work under pressure and prioritise.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with large complex data
Desirable Skills
  • Working knowledge of lease accounting (IFRS16)
  • Good technical ability with previous exposure to commercial reporting
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft AX365, Oracle or SAP) operating in a large organisation with multiple business streams.
Team OverviewThe General Ledger (GL) team has 9 team members. The GL Manager, two GL Team Leaders and 6 team members.
