Job Description

Are you based in the CARDIFF areaDo you have Yard and Transport Management experienceDo you have a passion for working with peopleMinster is a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for an Operation Supervisor(Yard/Transport) whos as passionate about great service as we are.Hours - 7.00am - 5.00pm Monday to FridayMinster, St Catherines Trading Park, Units D&E, Pengam Road, Cardiff, CF24 2RZ Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects
  • Managing team of including 4 Yard team and 4 Drivers
  • Producing monthly reports
  • Supporting the Branch Manager
  • Ensure your team are set up for the day, including delivery drivers with route planning
  • Help to process and prepare customer orders - load and unload customer and supplier vehicles using a forklift truck to minimise manual handling (training will be provided!)
  • Work as a direct support the management team and act as a keyholder when needed
  • Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products
  • Maintain stock levels in both the warehouse and yard areas, carrying out regular stock counts
  • Keep the branch looking clean and tidy and make Health & Safety a priority
  • Work with colleagues to suggest opportunities for improvement

Required Skills and Experience
  • Previous industry experience preferred but not essential
  • A positive team player who is a strong and inclusive leader
  • A genuine enthusiasm for dealing with customers, and a customer 1st attitude
  • Confident working both indoors and outdoors, with a strong focus on H&S
  • Commercial acumen
