Job Description

Structural Engineer required to join their consultancy based in Chorley. The core purpose of this role is to ensure that best Structural Engineering design practices are applied within the office. This position would suit a recently StructuralEngineer with a good breadth of experience in the Consultancy sector with at least 3 years experience within residential and commercial buildings. Structural Engineer Position Overview

The role will involve mentoring less experienced members of the team
Work on a number of projects and clients at any one time
Support our Principal engineers and Directors across the group
Quality deliverables and client satisfaction are at the forefront of our everyday responsibilities
Conformance to our accredited processes and procedures as recognised within the industry
Implementing fundamental knowledge and understanding of structural engineering design and the application and principles
Working on innovative and sustainable engineering projects across various sectors, including residential, commercial, and industrial
Using AutoCAD, Masterseries and TEDDS as well as STAAD.Pro, SCIA and Revit
Report writing
Site visits

Structural Engineer Position Requirements

Minimum three years experience within Structural design including steelwork, reinforced concrete and masonry construction to Euro Code standard
Bachelors or masters degree in civil or Structural Engineering
Proficient use of AutoCAD, Masterseries and TEDDS design software
Understanding of STAAD.Pro, SCIA and Revit
Producing detailed structural calculations and sketches
Preparation of construction drawings and specifications
Commercial awareness of costing, budgets and quotations
Report writing
Site visits to verify construction complies with construction drawings
Willing to work towards or nearing Chartered Status
