Job Description

Thomas and Dessain are recruiting on behalf of a large legal advice service provider who are looking for a Data Protection Manager to join their team.You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive data protection strategies that safeguard the companies data assets against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destructionThe Job:

  • Development and implementation of policies and procedures within date protection in compliance with relevant applicable laws
  • Play a key role in conducting and supporting audits and risk assessments
  • Be able to identify risks and vulnerabilities within data protection and GDPR
  • Liaise with external authorities and professional advisers
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to senior management and other departments on data protection matters, including data processing activities and data security practices
  • Help develop and deliver data protection training to all staff business- wide
  • Deal with and respond to internal and external queries
  • Support the implementation of any data protection related projects
  • Monitor and analyse changes in data protection laws and regulations, and update internal policies and procedures, as necessary
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure compliance
The Ideal candidate:
  • Ba in Law, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certification is highly desirable
  • Experience within Data Protection ideally within legal/ financial services
  • Extensive knowledge of data protection laws and up to date practices
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach
  • Ability to consider organisation-wide implications when making decisions
