We are currently recruiting on behalf of our prestigious client in Clydach, Swansea for an Engineering Support /Bill of Materials Advisor for a 12 month contract. The Mond Nickel Refinery, owned & operated by Vale Europe celebrated 120 years of production this year, and is one of the worlds leading Nickel refineries. Vale are globally one of the worlds largest mining companies, with operations in the UK, Asia, theUSA and across Europe. The Bill of Materials (BOMs) Creator will be working specifically on the identification of the required bill of materials to support maintenance activities for various equipment within Vales Clydach Nickel Refinery. After the parts have been identified thework will involve following Vales internal processes to create the BOMs in our maintenance management system (SAP). BOM is a key component in materials managements to ensure the "right parts in the right quantities at the right time" are provided. With a reliable BOM, the planners and supervisors are able to determine exactly what parts are needed for efficient executionof maintenance plans and corrective work. Persons in this role will be responsible for the end to end process of identification to the execution of the BOM in SAP. The scope of work will include the following: * Utilising equipment criticality to prioritise the BOM creation process. * Ability to read OEMs, Data sheets, vendor info and P&IDs with respect to Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation for parts identification. Utilising project data, document control and SAP for data collection. * Identification of sub-assemblies of the parts list for ease of identification (ie: Rebuilds, groupings). * Strong communication skills required to work with vendors. * Reliability knowledge on the materials impact on production requirements. * Material criticality ranking, following Vale defined process. This ranking will be completed to aid in the identification of warehouse storage, vendor held parts or outsourcing. This process will take into account site usage and equipment ranking for recommendationspertaining to the min/max storage requirements for the warehouse. * Codification of materials using Vale defined process - Klassmatt * Excel knowledge to build data into SAP load sheet format for system loading * Existing BOMs to be reviewed and validated utilising the process listed above. This is a 12 month contract with an expected start date of January 2023.Working on a 37.5 hour week, with annual earnings up to £41,000 per annum depending on experience. Overtime may be required during busy periods (payable at premium rates) and a 10% bonus will be paid upon completion.
