Female Support WorkerClydach, SwanseaAbout UsMaximising potential for over 20 years, Westcountry Case Management provides a specialist case management service that helps individuals recruit their own support workers. We have just been rated as Outstanding in our recent CQC inspection.Our ambition is to inspire clients, their relatives and professionals alike by consistently attaining excellent outcomes; supporting people with compassion and kindness.We are now seeking additional Female Support Workers to join an existing care team to support our client, a schoolgirl in Clydach. She has cerebral palsy, resulting in physical and learning disabilities and requiring 24/7 1:1 care. The Benefits- Salary of £12.50 per hour (weekdays) and £13.50 per hour (weekends)- A waking nights salary of £13.50 per hour (weekdays) and £14.50 per hour (weekends)- Work directly for the end service user and not an agency- Make a positive lasting difference to a girl’s life- Statutory benefitsThe RoleAs a Female Support Worker, you will provide outstanding support and 1:1 care to our client, a young girl who lives with her parents near Clydach.Her care needs are complex and she requires support in managing her day-to-day needs in the home, assistance in undertaking activities and support to attend her special needs school and engage in therapies.The work is varied and involves helping the client to access the local community and its amenities, along with accompanying her on family outings and holidays.This role will involve moving and handling tasks which may require you to bend, kneel, squat or lunge and work on mats on the floor on a regular basis.This position may include overnight shifts at the client’s home, making sure she is safe and attended to during the night.About YouTo be considered as a Female Support Worker, you will need:- Previous care experience- A full, valid driving licence (as you will be required to drive a long wheelbase wheelchair accessible vehicle)- To be registered with, or working towards registration with, Social Care Wales- To hold a recognised Health and Social Care qualification (NVQ Level 2 or a Diploma) or have completed the All Wales Induction Framework, or be willing to complete this within 6 months of starting if successfulPlease note, only female applicants will be considered for this role due to nature of personal care involved. This post is compliant with Paragraph 1, Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 relating to Occupational Requirements.Other organisations may call this role Support Worker, Care Worker, Personal Care Assistant, Healthcare Worker, Healthcare Co-ordinator, Care Co-ordinator, Social Care Worker, Care Assistant, or Healthcare Assistant.Full or part-time hours will be considered for the right candidate.This position requires a fully enhanced disclosure request from the DBS.
