Learning Support Assistant Location: Barry (Vale of Glamorgan)Pay rate: £10.77phPosition: Full-time (MondayFriday 8.30am3.30pm)Age range: Foundation PhaseKey Stage 2Start: September TermOngoingHave you considered working in education previouslyAre you passionate about being a Teaching AssistantDo you enjoy supporting and developing childrenTeaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Primary School in the Vale of Glamorgan area who need two classroom support assistants in September! The school is easily accessible by public transport and parking nearby.We would love to hear from people who feel they are calm, patient, and adaptive as this will be essential for both roles.About the positions:Both positions at this fantastic school will require you to help children and young people who need support with their learning.One position is within Year 1. You will be working alongside an experienced teacher. You will be supporting a small group with their education, behavioural and social development, helping children who find it difficult to learn.The second position is within Year 4. You would be working 1:1 supporting a young girl with Autism who struggles socially. This position will require you to support with engagement and communication. In addition to this, helping the pupil to understand and promote their self-development.The successful Teaching Assistant will have the following:

  • Experience in working with supporting children in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis OR have personal experience and a desire to provide support
  • A calm and nurturing approach
  • An ability to manage challenging behaviour
  • Patience when supporting children with additional learning needs
  • Willingness to be proactive and have a hands-on approach
  • The availability to work full-time (Monday-Friday)
Successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced child only DBS disclosure, be registered with the EWC and provide at least 2 professional references.In return you will receive:
