Job Description

Loader£9.81 - £12.22 per hourTo collect and load refuse and recyclable material from domestic, industrial and commercial properties from a variety of sacks, bins and containersTo undertake, usually as a member of a team, duties connected with the removal of refuse and recyclate material from households and industrial and commercial premises. This will involve the handling of a full range of containers such as bags/sacks, bins, boxes or loose material.To remove and clean up any spillages of waste created on the round or in areas of the collection as directed by a member of the supervision team.

  • To assisting the driver in safe manoeuvring of the vehicle on the round or at the disposal/recycling location.
  • To attend any relevant training courses and cooperate with any health and safety inspections or monitoring processes.
  • To assist with the promotion of recycling services, including the wearing of any safety and promotional material designated to that service.
  • To undertake as and when required any labouring duty associated with the Neighbourhood Services team.
  • Ensure compliance with the Councils Financial Regulations, Standing Orders, Policies and ProceduresTo implement the principles of the Councils Equal Opportunity Policy whilst carrying out the above dutiesTo adhere to Health and Safety legislation / relevant Council policies and procedures and to take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be adversely affected by your acts / omissions.To implement the principles of the Councils Environment Policy while carrying out the above duties.To report without delay any safeguarding concerns to the appropriate safeguarding officer.Such other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grade and in accordance with the general character of the job as may reasonably be required by the Chief Officer from time to time.
