Job Description

Financial Controller / Accountant opportunity in Coventry. Great visibility as number two to the Finance Director. Early Friday finish! Accountancy Practice candidates also considered.Our client is an innovation-focused global manufacturer that is currently driving a variety of change and transformation projects. With an impressive and ever-increasing order book, this is an exciting time to join the business.Reporting directly to and in support of the Finance Director, as Financial Controller / Accountant, you will support the wider business in delivering excellence in financial control. This all-encompassing role will focus on all areas of financial accountingwith a particular emphasis on general ledger accounting, master data management, fixed assets, treasury control and tax matters.Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in monthly and annual close
  • General Ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations and inter-company recharges
  • Handle all treasury functions including cash management, liquidity forecasting, daily bank reconciliations, administration & banking relationships
  • Responsible for all areas of tax compliance with accurate on-time submissions for VAT and Corporation Tax
  • Own the fixed asset register
  • Responsibility for the company master data together with tracking and reporting on key metrics
  • Reporting and supporting Group Finance at the European HQ including inter-company recharges & reconciliations.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a finance function, perhaps as a Financial Controller / Accountant, Finance Manager or similar, with a focus on general ledger financial accounting, month end, tax & treasury
  • Own the role, able to support and be a reliable Number 2 to the Finance Director - be their right-hand person
  • Strong MS Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups etc)
  • Any ERP systems experience beneficial (Oracle, SAP etc)
  • Supportive team player, efficient with strong attention to detail
  • Confident communication skills at all business levels, both internally and externally
  • Organised and proactive, able to meet deadlines.
