Position Title: Transport Coordinator (Temp to Perm)Location: CrawleyHours: 07:00 - 17:00Pay: £13:45phKey Responsibilities:- Plan and coordinate transportation schedules to ensure timely delivery and pickup of goods.- Assign drivers to routes and manage daily dispatches.- Monitor transportation costs and implement cost-saving measures.- Maintain records of vehicle maintenance and ensure all vehicles are in good working condition.- Coordinate regular vehicle inspections and repairs.- Ensure all transportation activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.- Promote and enforce safety standards and practices among drivers and staff.- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.- Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, customers, and vendors.- Address and resolve any transportation-related issues or complaints promptly.- Provide regular updates to customers on delivery statuses.- Demonstrate excellent phone communication skills to ensure clear and effective interactions.- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including deliveries, pickups, and fuel usage.- Generate and analyze reports to track performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.Qualifications:- Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation coordination or a similar role.- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.- Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements.- Attention to detail is crucial for maintaining accurate records and schedules.- Must be good on the phone, with strong verbal communication skills.Personal Attributes:- Friendly and approachable personality to fit in with the team-oriented environment.- Detail-oriented and problem-solving mindset.- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.Requirements:- Must hold a valid drivers license.
