Job Description

They have a holistic approach to education which prioritises individualised learning,therapeutic support, and a nurturing environment to help students overcome challenges and reach their full potential.Position Overview: As a Tutor and PSHE Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal growth of our students. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality tutoring sessions tailored to meet the individualneeds of students, as well as teaching Personal, Social, Health, and Economic (PSHE) education to enhance their personal development and well-being.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions to students, focusing on areas of academic need and skill development.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging PSHE lessons that promote the development of students social, emotional, and life skills.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and fosters positive relationships.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and external professionals to develop and implement effective strategies to support students with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching strategies as necessary to meet individual learning goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements, ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (PGCE or QTS desirable).
  • Previous experience working with students with challenging behaviour and/or SEMH needs in an educational or therapeutic setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development, behaviour management techniques, and effective teaching strategies for diverse learners.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity, equality, and diversity within the school community.
