Job Description

Management AccountantIlkeston, Derbyshire12-month fixed contract£40-42kOur client, an established manufacturing business based in Ilkeston, is seeking a Management Accountant to join them as soon as possible. You will play an integral role in producing exceptional quality management accounting information for a key divisionof the business.Support to the Finance Controller in day-to-day operation of accounts and financial controls, ensuring the business maintains strong financial discipline and effective processes.Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Financial Controller in establishing and maintaining robust financial and business processes.
  • Monthly Accounts Preparation - Prepare monthly accounts, including accruals, prepayment preparation, and journal posting.
  • Investigate and explain overhead spend variances to the budget, recommending and outlining necessary actions.
  • Conduct margin analysis to ensure profitability targets are met.
  • Weekly and Monthly Reporting, Preparation of weekly labour reports
  • Generate monthly margin reports, investigating variances from targets.
  • Create weekly cash flow forecasts and explain variances from previous forecasts.
  • Sales reporting
  • Conduct VAT analysis to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget for the business.
  • Support the annual external audit, ensuring the business complies with current accounting standards
Our client is keen to attract an experienced Management Accountant, qualification isn’t important however experience, a proactive approach and the ability to produce quality Accounting and reporting is essential. We are considering Qualified by experienceand PQ candidates with relevent experience. Our client is a manufacturing business and experience within another manufacturing environment would be preferred. Strong IT skills (in particular MS Excel is essential along with excellent analysis and reportingskills.
