Job Description

Job Title: Sample Unpacking Assistant

  • Job Type: Permanent
  • Hours: 37.5
  • Job Location: Ellesmere Port
  • Salary £23432
Your new role
  • As a unpacking assistant you will be unpacking samples ensuring they are labelled and receipted correctly in accordance with the quality management system
  • Ensure all samples are correctly receipted in and registered on LIMS accurately and efficiently recording details in appropriate sample registers in order that the customer requirements are met within agreed turnaround times.
  • To provide stewarding support to the laboratory, to ensure customer service levels are met e.g. sample storage, retrieval and disposal.
  • Support with the storage, retrieval and disposal of samples in a proper, traceable and safe manner to ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety
  • Take receipt of samples and stock items/consumables delivered to site in order to ensure an efficient and effective laboratory operation.
  • Support effective teamwork and communication between unpacking, registration and laboratory teams to ensure an effective and efficient service, in keeping with business objectives, is provided to the customer.
  • Ensure your training records / training matrix are kept up to date so that your manager and any auditors reviewing skill levels have accurate information.
  • Support a commitment to continuous improvement through adherance with SGS’s quality systems to ensure a quality service is offered to customers and compliance to SGS procedures.
QualificationsHow to be a successful candidate
  • Experience in working within a high-volume submission / fast paced environment and working to a tight deadline.
  • GCSE in Science, Mathematics and English grades A to C or equivalent.
  • Valid driving license for the UK
Desirable
  • Experience of working in a lab industry
  • Desirable, Experience of working in the Oil Industry
