Job Description

Carmac (Building & Civil Engineering) Ltd are celebrating 40 years in business. We carry out groundworks and civil engineering projects predominantly in the residential house building market for various clients across the East Midlands and Northern HomeCounties. We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our busy commercial team. Responsible for cost planning and commercial management throughout the entire life cycle of the project from inception to post-completion, the role isprimarily office based (at our offices in Finedon, Northants) and the ideal candidate will live within a reasonable commute to this location.Role responsibilities will include:Preparation of interim valuations and final accounts.Management of day to day commercial and contract activities.Forming and maintaining working relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and site operations staff.Sub-contractor procurement and valuationsWorking clearly and accurately under pressure and tight time scales.Required skills and experience:Previous Quantity Surveying experienceConstruction industry knowledgeFinancial and numeracy management skillsExcellent communication and negotiating skillsThe ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readilyComputer literacyAn understanding of building regulations and legal guidelinesIn return we offer a competitive remuneration package which will include a negotiable annual salary of around £40,000 (DOE), a company vehicle (or car allowance), and employer contributory pension scheme.Closing date for applications - 31st July 2024.
