The Company you’ll work forWe are proudly representing our public sector client based in Gateshead for their search for an Accountant. They now have a requirement to recruit for a full time, fixed term assignment.The Job you will be Doing
  • Provide professional and financial advice and relevant, accurate and timely information to support the strategic planning process and the operational management
  • Assist in providing positive leadership, clear direction, training and support to team members to ensure high levels of performance
  • Represent directors at meetings and working parties as required and provide professional financial advice and relevant, accurate and timely information to assist the strategic planning process and operational management
  • Assist in monitoring, control and management of financial resources in line with statutory obligations, standing orders and financial regulations in order to ensure proper accountability
  • Assist in the development, operation and maintenance of financial information systems to maximise potential use and improve the flow and quality of financial information
  • Provide for the maintenance and development of agreed performance standards, indicators and measures insuring the ongoing provision of an efficient service
  • Assist in the relevant training of all stakeholders to ensure high levels of awareness
  • Carry out research and prepare reports and briefing notes as required
  • Ensure all work carried out is performed in accordance with Health and Safety policies
About You
  • AAT qualification or equivalent with relevant post qualification experience, or CCAB qualification or equivalent
  • Knowledge of a financial environment
  • Knowledge of accountancy software packages
  • Experience of professional financial advice
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and organise own workload
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to liaise with a wide variety of internal and external clients
  • Good IT skills
