Job Description

My client is seeking a payroller to join their finance function based in the East End of Glasgow.Client DetailsMy client is a leading business within their sub-sector of FMCG. They have recently acquired new businesses and are adding to their teams to support the growth of their business. My client has won multiple awards this year alone and successfully ingrainedthemselves as a leading figure.DescriptionThe main aspects of the role are inclusive of, but not limited to the below:Payroll

  • Processing the weekly payroll for around 200 employees
  • Extracting and manipulating data from the time & attendance software
  • Reviewing timesheets and verifying that hours worked are accurate
  • Calculating holiday pay and accruals
  • Producing weekly reports and helping management with any information requests
  • Answering any queries from employees regarding their pay
  • Liaising with HR, group finance and departmental supervisors
  • Working to very strict deadlines to ensure payroll is ready for the weekly accounts
Other
  • Holiday cover for the payroll function of our sister site will be required. Travel to the site is not necessary.
  • This role is predominantly centred around payroll, however, support to the purchase ledger function will be required. This will include undertaking a range of routine, day to day tasks.
  • Always adhere to confidentiality and security of information and in line with the Data Protection Act and company protocols.
  • Undertake training as requested by the Company.
ProfileThe successful candidate will embody the skills and attributes listed below:
  • Prior experience of running a busy payroll is essential. Minimum 2 years.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Accurate data entry skills with great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with employees regarding their pay and various department heads
  • Ability to multitask in a time-sensitive environment with specific deadlines
  • Confidentiality and respect for the privacy of employee records is essential
