Job Description

Accountancy Recruit is partnering with an established recycling business based in Grays, Essex in the recruitment of a Finance Manager. The purpose of the role is to take responsibility for the accounting function, supported by an Accounts Clerk. This isa full-time, permanent role with responsibility for weekly and monthly management reporting, month end accounts and year end statutory compliance.So, if you like variety and have the technical ability to maintain the accounts function from start to finish you will find this job very interesting. You will need a flexible approach to get involved in all aspects of the accounts, managing debtors andcreditors, business facing with the bank and presentation of financial reports to the Directors.If you are currently working as a: Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Accounts Manager, Management Accountant, Bookkeeper or Accountant your skills could be transferable.Key responsibilities

  • Overseeing the day-to-day transactions; purchase and sales ledger, credit control and bank reconciliations.
  • Responsibility for the companys accounts function using Sage Line 50.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Monthly balance sheet and profit & loss reports.
  • Robust cash flow forecasting - weekly reports and presentation to the Directors together with cash flow management.
  • Making payments and dealing with suppliers.
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Debtor management/chasing debt.
  • Calculation of VAT and returns, dealing with HMRC.
  • Month end closing of accounts.
  • Preparation of year end and liaison with the external Accountants.
Person specification
  • Fully or part qualified ACCA, CIMA or ICAEW or Qualified by Experience.
  • Would be an advantage to have a working knowledge of Sage, and understanding of haulage, import and export.
  • Management Accounting including expertise in cash flow forecasting.
  • Hands on approach to manage the entire accounts function for a small to medium sized business.
  • Ability to adapt and "can do attitude".
RemunerationSalary: £55-65,000 paHolidays: 20 days holiday plus bank holidaysPension: Auto enrolmentHours: Monday to Friday - 8.30 to 5.00 pm.Office based.
