Their clients range fromPrincipal M&E Contractors, Housing Associations and Local Authorities,Facilities Management andProperty Management Companies.Their philosophy is to bring clients the highest level of customerservice and innovation in our system designs to ensure customer satisfaction and quality.Role Summary:The Sales & Estimating Manager works to improve their market position and achieve financialgrowth. Defines long-term organisational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifiesbusiness opportunities, negotiates, and closes business dealsand maintains extensive knowledge ofcurrent market conditions. Includes managing and reviewing all tender and quote requests ensuringour best price is submitted on time with set company profit margin.Job Responsibilities:• Review all tender/quote requests and ensure our submissions are returned to client within timeframes.• Assign and mentor estimator(s) to ensure accurate calculations on cost build ups and margins.• Review all tenders/quotes once formulated prior to our submission.• Meet clients to review tenders/quotes, prospect for new business, and ensure relationships aremaintained.• Strategic planning is a key part of this job description, since it is the manager’s responsibility todevelop the pipeline of new business coming into the company. This requires a thoroughknowledge of the market, the solutions/services the company can provide,and of the company’scompetitors.• Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.• Complete pre-contract checks and negotiations prior to accepting new Projects and handover toHead of Projects.• Attend pre-contract meetings with Head of Projects and client.Knowledge/Experience required:• Experience in departmental management.• Excellent influencing and powerful communication skills• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to engage with clients, including being able tocommunicate at all levels with ease.• Estimating / costing / budgeting / financial• Can use own initiative and make decisions under pressure.• Sound understanding of the British Standards relevant to the fire and security industry.• Competent with various PC software (Excel/Word/Outlook/PowerPoint)• Demonstrable experience in a fire and / or security Sales Role, a minimum of 5 years• Excellent sales skills, with a proven track record of sales / business development success• Able to work openly and co-operatively with others.• Self-motivation and ability to organise own time effectively.• Good presentational skills; able to present complex ideas at the appropriate level to bothtechnical and non-technical audiences.All Staff are required to:• Uphold the Equal Opportunities and Anti-Harassment and Bullying Policies, ensuring effectiveimplementation in all aspects of their work for the Company.• Act at all times within the Company Rules, Policies, Procedures, and any other statutoryrequirements.• Be proactive, bring ideas, suggestions and contribute to business improvement.• Undertake training as required.• Our client is an equal opportunities employer.
