Job Description

Peak Scientific is a leading innovator in the design, manufacture and support of high performance gas generators for analytical laboratories. Based in their Headquarters in Inchinnan, Renfrewshire – they are looking for an IT Apprentice to join their growing team.What can we offer you This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about technology to develop a hands-on IT experience in a fast-paced, dynamic working environment. You will be part of an IT team who deliver services across Peak Scientific’s global operations.As part of the team, you will gain experience across different IT services from support of hardware and software, helping colleagues with problems and sharing advice on tools such as Office365.Throughout this apprenticeship you will develop your skills through a combination of structured and on the job training, as well as working towards an industry recognised qualification, receiving support and mentoring throughout the programme.ResponsibilitiesIt will be your job to ensure that colleagues are supported in using the IT systems hardware and software to help them deliver their role. Your role will involve:

  • Being the first point of contact at the IT Helpdesk
  • Acting as the public face of IT Services Department, treating all customers with courtesy and professionalism
  • Applying problem solving techniques to troubleshoot IT issues
  • Setting up laptops, mobile phones, printers and other devices for new starters and colleagues
  • Liaising with suppliers and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Learning about our business applications used across our company
  • Expanding the support role, as your knowledge increases
What skills and experience are required
  • Basic IT knowledge, with a strong interest in learning about IT and technology
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy – English and Maths National 5 (or equivalent)
  • Strong organisational skills with good time management
  • Team player, as well as able to work individually
  • Confident and articulate
  • Professional attitude and presentation
Salary: £17,000 per annum.Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.Benefits:
