Whilst a group function, Electricity Distribution Corporate Affairs (EDCA) act as a dedicated support service to the Electricity Distribution Business,serving 20m customers across the Midlands, Southwest and Wales.The Engagement and Social Obligations team is accountable for the companys responsible business activities, ensuring we fulfil its role as a good corporate citizen and adds value to the communities it serves. The team is also responsible for the delivery ofSocial Contract obligations and the successful roll out of the customer vulnerability strategy, providing essential support to vulnerable customersKey AccountabilitiesSupport the Social Obligations Managers in the successful delivery of customer vulnerability strategy, ensuring achievement of business plan objectives relating to smart energy action plans and fuel poverty.Identify and develop opportunities for innovative projects to improve the breadth and depth of Social Obligations support programme, through innovation funding such as the Energy Affordability Fund.Drive efficiency throughout the portfolio of social obligations projects, driving down cost and maximising benefit for customers - ensuring a positive social return on investment for all activities.Develop regular reporting mechanism for social obligations projects, keeping the executive up to date with progress and impact of programmes.Work closely with the wider Engagement and Social Obligations team to ensure alignment between project delivery and keep stakeholders up to date with programme performance.Identify opportunities to maintain and grow network of referral and delivery partners, maximising the reach of our social obligation investments.Work closely with the customer excellence team to align data sharing with other utilities and support the ongoing development of the PSR strategy.Represent the company on internal and external governance and project groups relating to customer vulnerability and social obligations.Feed into the compilation and delivery of engaging and compelling regulatory submissions to secure business plan incentives relating to social obligations.Work closely with colleagues in the wider Corporate Affairs team to identify positive stories and though leadership opportunities, positing us as a leader in the space of customer vulnerability and social obligations.Feed into and help shape the companys ongoing social obligations strategy, as well as providing input into regulatory and policy consultations relating to customer vulnerability and social obligationsKnowledge, Experience and Technical Know HowIncredibly strong project management experience, leading multiple complex projects at once with competing priorities and deadlines.Demonstrable experience managing projects both with internal stakeholders and third party organisations, ensuring regular reviews and providing assurance that contracts are providing value for moneyUnderstanding of regulated industry or infrastructure, as well as the important relationship between industry, regulators, government, and other stakeholders.Ability to build strong and effective networks, influencing and negotiation at the highest level internally and externally.Experience designing and delivering engagement activities to gather insights and using them to shape company strategy.Experience in using different communications channels and tactics to achieve positive outcomesStrong track record of successfully communicating complex policy solutions in a clear and concise manner to multiple audiencesExperience of working with and influencing key internal stakeholders in a large, complex organisations, working in a collaborative manner to reach shared objectives.Able to prioritise and manage competing issues, working with and through others - maintaining high and consistent standards and alignment, working at pace and with minimal guidance.Ability to communicate to a high level, highly articulate and a determined and proactive leader and influencer.
