Job Description

Occupational Therapist - SEN SchoolsPermanentSalary: £37,668.80 to £51,896.00 pro rata - depending on skills, experience and qualificationsHours: 40 hrs per week - term time onlyLocation: Darwen, Leyland , PrestonWe are currently seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our clients therapy team on a permanent basis. Youd be based across their 3 SEN schools in Darwen, Leyland and Preston.Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the SENCo and therapy team to ensure quality childrens healthcare and therapy.
  • Work with families and outside agencies to ensure appropriate therapy for children.
  • Undertake autonomous assessments of children with a wide range of additional needs, including autistic spectrum conditions, sensory and attachment difficulties within the setting of a specialist school.
  • Analyse assessments to recommend and deliver appropriate interventions.
  • Support individual care plans, focusing on daily living, self-care, productivity, and leisure.
  • Develop, evaluate, and review individualised occupational therapy treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate written records in line with professional standards.
  • Assess complex conditions in children using advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
Requirements:
  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy, registered with HCPC
  • Knowledge and experience of a wide range of approaches to the management of children by advanced clinical reasoning
  • Knowledge of the management of children who have autistic spectrum conditions, sensory needs and attachment difficulties, including evidence based strategies.
