Job Description

Organization: A Globally Recognized CharityReporting To: Head of ArchitectureRole Summary: We are seeking a Data Architect to ensure that our data systems and processes evolve in alignment with our technological ambitions, strategies, and roadmaps. This role is crucial for ensuring that our data solutions, models,and integrations across key systems-especially in data acquisition, MDM, and CRM-are robust, secure, and fit for purpose. You will provide expert recommendations, articulate trade-offs, and offer technical leadership and coaching to a diverse team of technicalstaff. Additionally, you will support planning, define solution standards and patterns, and contribute to governance and development operations, ultimately enhancing our Architecture capability and supporting the overall delivery of our initiatives.Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of our data, data flows, processes, and key transactional data systems (e.g., Semarchy MDM/Person Hub, Siebel/Salesforce, and Third Party Data Loader).
  • Translate business requirements into comprehensive data solutions encompassing data capture/loading (including from third parties), data modelling, processing, and migration. This includes contributing to High Level Designs, Low Level Designs, and Key DesignDecisions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party partners to ensure data solutions are coherent and meet both immediate needs and long-term value.
  • Assess and contribute to the evolution of data models and standards across key transactional systems.
  • Drive the direction of data-related work across teams and partners, promoting sound data governance to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Identify and escalate technical risks and dependencies, focusing on technical debt and total cost of ownership.
  • Advocate for good data practices and informed decision-making across all capabilities and partners.

Key Technical Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
  • Proven experience in data architecture, particularly with Person MDM (Semarchy preferred) and CRM (Siebel/Salesforce advantageous).
  • Extensive experience in data migration from principles to practical application.
  • Strong understanding and experience in data modelling and applying data models in real-world systems.
  • Experience in enterprise person/consumer data systems architecture.
  • Solid understanding and experience with modern software and platform architecture approaches (microservices, cloud, etc.).
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience delivering architecture through agile product teams, familiar with delivery frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Lean, etc.
  • Proficient in modelling and documenting complex information, creating models and visualizations to enable understanding of the architecture.
