Job Description

About Us: Tower Hamlets, a borough that proudly hosted the Olympic Games in 2012, is home to our client school. We embrace diversity, reflecting the multi-ethnic and multi-cultural makeup of our pupil population. Committed to inclusivity,we offer specialized support for 25 pupils with profound, severe, and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), facilitated by a dedicated team of teachers and teaching assistants.The Opportunity: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated PMLD Teacher to join our specialist team. As part of our fully inclusive school, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored education and support to our pupils with complexlearning needs. This role starts in September.Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of PMLD students aged 11-16.
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress closely.
  • Collaborate effectively with the PMLD team, teaching assistants, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for students.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that promotes independence, confidence, and social interaction.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and assistive technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and carers, maintaining open communication and providing regular feedback on student progress.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience working with pupils with PMLD.
  • Sound knowledge of PMLD pedagogy, including sensory integration techniques and communication strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Adaptability, resilience, and a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of pupils with complex learning needs.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity, diversity, and equality within the school community.
