Principal EngineerLondon, UK, Hybrid WorkingSalary - Up to £110k + bonusCompany: InsuranceAbout Us:My Insurance client, who are a Global Reinsurance firm are currently looking for a Principal Engineer to spearhead the technical team with the view of moving into a Lead role. They are at the forefront of the insurance industry, providing innovative solutionstailored to their clients unique needs. Priding themselves on their collaborative culture, cutting-edge technology, and commitment to excellence.Seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Engineer to join our team in London. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional with a strong background in Python, Azure, Terraform, DevOps, and React. The ideal candidate will have a passion formentoring, a desire to grow into a management role, and the technical acumen to drive our projects to success.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the development and deployment of innovative software solutions using Python, Azure, Terraform, and React.
  • Implement and manage DevOps practices to ensure seamless integration and delivery of projects.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement scalable and secure applications.
  • Play a pivotal role in strategic planning, project management, and decision-making processes.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in coding standards, testing, and automation.
  • Prepare and present technical solutions and reports to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain cutting-edge.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Principal Engineer or similar senior engineering role.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Python, Azure, Terraform, DevOps practices, and React.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a desire to move into a management position.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
