Job Description

The Role M&G are looking for an enthusiastic, non-technical Scrum Master to join our agile Product Delivery team to help deliver high quality products. This is a business process based role. The Product Delivery team are responsible for launching funds, mandates and investment vehicles, product changes and other product related projects. This is a great opportunity to collaborate with a talented, diverse team of product delivery experts who arekey advocates of agile practices and values, using these to help drive forward the delivery pipeline. Key responsibilities for this role include the facilitation of the scrum process for two (or more) squads, coaching the team, removing delivery impediments, and ensuring that the team adheres to and lives agile principles and values. We are looking for strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish relationships, influence outcomes, and deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences. This position requires an individual with a proven ability to lead/coachteams across a variety of projects and deliver solutions that meet and exceed stakeholder expectations. This role is hybrid requiring 2 - 3 days in the office a week. Key Responsibilities for this role:

  • Lead and coordinate scrum ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-up, sprint review, and retrospectives.
  • Assist product owners, helping them manage Product Backlog Items, ensuring they know how to arrange the Product Backlog to maximize value.
  • Assist in the production of monthly Management Information reporting and ad-hoc queries.
  • Coach the team on agile best practices, such as self-organization, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor the teams progress and performance using appropriate metrics and tools.
  • Identify and resolve impediments that hinder the teams ability to deliver the sprint goals.
  • Foster a positive and productive team culture that promotes innovation, creativity, diversity of thought and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate closely with the product owner, stakeholders, and other scrum masters to align the teams vision, goals, and priorities.
  • Support the team in delivering high-quality products that meet the customers needs and expectations.
  • Advocate agile, help the product delivery team and relevant stakeholders to embrace agile core values, adopt and apply agile principles, and implementation practices.
  • Fostering a continuous improvement culture.
Key Knowledge, skills, and experience:
  • At least 2 years of experience as a scrum master in an asset management or financial services environment.
  • Demonstrate relevant experience of business process based non-technical agile.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent agile certification.
  • Understanding when to be pragmatic in applying agile techniques and principles.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and people skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Working knowledge of Jira.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office tools, including advanced Excel.
  • Ability to host workshops and ceremonies face to face, hybrid and via MS Teams.
