Senior Risk & Compliance Manager

Please note: Experience with Aladdin/Webfolio is a core requierement for this role.We have partnered with one of our top clients, a leading global asset manager, seeking to hire an experienced Senior Risk Manager for their London office. This critical role involves developing & maintaining tools and methods to measure, monitor, and controlapplicable risks, particularly concerning Private Debt investments. Additionally, the role extends across the firms other investment strategies straddling both Risk & Compliance oversight.Reason This Role Exists:

• Team Expansion: Address the growing needs of the Private Debt team and strengthen the middle office control and investment committee
• Enhanced Risk Management: To provide robust second-line oversight, especially in risk appraisal & compliance within the Private Debt sector
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Improve coordination between London and Geneva teams to ensure seamless Risk Management & Compliance operations

Key Responsibilities:

• Private Debt Risk Management:
  • Evaluate the risk profile of potential private debt investments
  • Develop and define product-specific risk frameworks, including investment objectives, guidelines, and limits
  • Conduct due diligence on transactions, ensuring adherence to risk frameworks on a pre- and post-trade basis
  • Perform ongoing risk monitoring, including operational risk assessments and quarterly certifications
  • Analyze and report on transaction and portfolio-level risks, including market, liquidity, and counterparty risks

• Compliance Oversight:
  • Coordinate with the Switzerland-based compliance team to handle local compliance issues
  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory needs and maintain up-to-date governance directives
  • Foster a strong compliance and risk-aware culture within the organization through training and best practices promotion

• Operational Risk & Reporting:
  • Produce regular risk reports for senior management, highlighting key exposures, mitigation efforts, and emerging trends
  • Conduct operational risk assessments and ensure efficient processes for marketing documentation review
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to support decision-making processes

• General Asset Management Oversight:
  • Engage with different investment teams in London, providing risk and compliance oversight across various asset management activities, including UCITS funds and hedge fund selection
  • Monitor and assess the ongoing risk exposure of existing investments and recommend appropriate mitigation actions

Qualifications:

• Educational Background:
  • Bachelors degree in finance, economics, or a related field. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA, CFA) is highly preferred

• Experience:
  • 5-10 years in risk and compliance management within the financial services industry, particularly with a focus on Private Debt
  • Experience with risk management tools such as Aladdin, Webfolio, Bloomberg, and APT

• Skills:
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset
  • High level of independence, initiative, and integrity
  • Advanced IT skills and proficiency in relevant software
