Job Description

A Financial Services client of mine in the heart of London are seeking a Software Engineer to join them permanently to support their prime brokerage operations working on both green and brown field projects.Client DetailsMy client is an internationally recognised financial services firm. With a global workforce exceeding 10,000 employees, they deliver a range of services from asset management to prime brokerage and are committed to innovation and leveraging technology toprovide first-class services to their clients.DescriptionYour key responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Working on strategic green field and brown field projects in Prime Brokerage and Business as Usual requests.
  • Collaborating closely with business teams to understand their needs and translate them into software solutions
  • Performing software testing and debugging to ensure high-quality outputs
  • Documenting all stages of the software development lifecycle
  • Collaborating with other Software Engineers to design and implement features
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of the software development processes
  • Adhering to company policies and regulations, and ensuring software compliance
ProfileA Successful Software Engineer will have:
  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience working in software development
  • Knowledge and experience of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) activities
  • Hands on experience across Java, SQL Server, Postgres, Angular, Spring, Docker
  • Commercial experience of Unix shell scripting & Messaging (Kafka, JMS, Solace)
  • Prior Knowledge of Gitlab source control, CI/CD. DevOps
  • Experience of digital assets and technologies as a bonus
  • Exposure to Test-Driven Development or Behavior Driven Development as an advantage
  • Cloud technologies, deployment, design and any PostgreSQL/Sybase experience as a plus
  • Previous Experience within the financial services industry
Job OfferOn Offer for a successful candidate is the ability to earn up to £75,000 per year +bonus and industry leading benefits while working in the financial heart of London commuting to the office 3 days per week.
