If yes, then read on to find out more about the job on offer at Smurfit Kappa.Are you ready to drive sustainable sales growth and build strong customer relationships As a Business Development Manager at Smurfit Kappa Saxon, you will play a pivotal role in improving and growing our business by establishing and developing relationshipswith both new and existing customers. Your mission is to identify new business opportunities, generate revenue, improve profitability, and help our business thrive.Reporting to the Sales Director, you will be instrumental in executing strategic plans to boost sales and enhance the companys reputation in the market. You will create exciting and innovative opportunities using a solution-based sales approach that leveragesthe extensive range of products and services Smurfit Kappa Group offers. Your success will contribute to achieving the site sales strategy and ensuring customer satisfaction. The role will cover the Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex territory (but not limitedto), so the location within this area for the role is flexible.Key job requirements
  • Collaborate with the Sales Director to develop and implement the sales strategy.
  • Deliver the sales strategy for your territory and meet agreed targets for new business growth.
  • Identify, establish, and cultivate relationships with new business prospects.
  • Understand customer business models and processes to find opportunities for adding value.
  • Manage new accounts to ensure customer and business satisfaction.
  • Maintain and grow existing account portfolios to maximize customer satisfaction and profitability.
  • Monitor and report on the commercial performance of accounts.
  • Actively participate in marketing and promotional activities at the Lowestoft site.
  • Support and work with the Customer Services function as required.
  • Build and nurture relationships within Smurfit Kappa to maximize inter-company sales.
To be successful in the Business Development Manager role, candidates will meet the following requirements:
  • Proven ability to establish and develop relationships in a customer-facing environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and proactive communication, including strong presentation skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
  • Confident and articulate with personal drive and focus.
  • Demonstrating a ‘design and solution’ thought process.
  • Flexible approach and a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel for customer visits, site visits and training.g
