Job Title: Art and Design Teacher (Maternity Contract)Location: MacclesfieldSalary: Up to £200 per dayContract Type: Maternity CoverStart Date: 02/09/2024Academics is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Art and Design Teacher to join our team at a well-regarded secondary school in Cheshire. This role is to cover a maternity leave, providing an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to make a significantimpact on students learning experiences. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Art and Design up to Key Stage 4 (KS4) and Design Technology up to Key Stage 3 (KS3).Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in Art and Design for students up to KS4.
Teach Design Technology to students up to KS3, ensuring lessons are stimulating and aligned with the national curriculum.
Assess, record, and report on students progress and development, ensuring timely feedback is provided to students and parents.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to achieve their full potential.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and resources.
Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and professional development opportunities.
Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of students at all times.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
Experience teaching Art and Design up to KS4.
Experience teaching Design Technology up to KS3.
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Art and Design.
Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and inspire students.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to continuous professional development.
