Job Description

Pay: MPS/UPS plus SEN allowance Start Date: April 2021 Garlinge Primary School and Nursery currently has avacancy for an enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced class teacher to leadour new Specialist Resource Provision for children with Autism (ASC). This is afantastic opportunity for a practitioner with SEND expertise to use theirskills, vision and drive to develop a brand new learning environment in whichchildren with Autism can thrive and reach their potential. Our SRP is due to open to pupils in September 2021and will be a purpose-built new classroom to support up to 16 children withAutism. The lead teacher will commence employment in April 2021 to workalongside the SLT and SENDCo in developing resources, the curriculum andshaping not only the physical layout of the unit but also the ethos andaspirations of the SRP ready for the first pupils in September. The successfulcandidate will work with the SLT to develop a clear vision to support childrenwith Autism within our school. The pupils in the SRP will need high-qualityindividualised support and a successful transition programme. We require acommitment to delivering an outstanding level of Teaching and Learning and arich and enjoyable curriculum. At Garlinge we pride ourselves on our inclusivityand the SRP will be a valued and integrated part of our mainstream provision.As such the lead teacher will also support colleagues through the school withAutism training and resources.
