IF YOU REQUIRE SPONSORSHIP OR HAVE LESS THAN 12 MONTHS REMAINING ON YOUR VISA PLEASE DO NOT APPLY AS WE ARE UNABLE TO PROGRESS YOUR APPLICATION****Job Title:Team Leader - Residential Childrens HomeLocation:Meldreth - Cambridgeshire / HertfordshireSalary:£14.45 - £15.77 (£30,056 - £32,802 per annum), linked to competency and qualificationsHours:Full-time – 40 hours per week – ShiftsWe are currently seeking aTeam Leaderto join aspecialist residential servicewhich provides care and therapeutic support for children and young people age 6-19 years with severe and profound communication difficulties associatedwith conditions such as cerebral palsy, autism, and degenerative disorders based in Meldreth.The role:AsTeam Leaderyou will hold your Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcareand have Shift / Team leadership experience.

  • To have a passion to make a difference, to enable service users to succeed and feel valued.
  • To actively promote and maintain a stable, happy homely and caring environment that puts the health, safety and welfare of our young people first.
  • Provide support to the Care Managers through the management, motivation and coaching of a team of support workers and Senior Support workers.
  • Be responsible for a team that provide appropriate physical and emotional support to the children and young people through the work of the care team within a residential environment and with off-site activities. This will include: GP other health relatedappointments, visits to families and trips out.
  • Help with the induction of new team members and their continued mentoring and development towards QCF and other mandatory training.
  • Carry out supervisions along with dealing with Performance Management issues within your team.
  • Take an active role in ensuring that activities are completed, and effectively delegated and day-to-day implementation of young people’s individual program plans are carried out efficiently with adequate cover available at all times.
  • Ensure that all documentation is kept up to date.
  • Undertake on a regular basis sleeping-in duties for which an allowance is paid and waking night duties and undertake duty manager/on call responsibilities
  • Please note that the role may require participation in physical intervention and personal care.
Experience /Qualifications:
  • Level 3 Diploma in ResidentialChildcare (Essential)
  • Shift / team leading experience
  • Superb communication skills
  • Highly organised
