Attendance and Welfare Officer Central Newcastle areaSeptember start, 3 month contract with view to extend till September 2025Full time hours Monday-Friday 9-5, 37 hours per week£15 per hour/£111 per dayDue to the nature of the role, a driving licence with access to your own vehicle is requiredTHE ROLEWe are working on behalf of a local school TRUST, to appoint Student Welfare and Attendance Support Officer.The successful candidate Will work alongside our wider attendance team ensuring vulnerable students are attending school, as well as advising pastoral leaders of strategy to support individual and cohorts of student’s attendance issues. A key role will bethe monitoring of attendance of individuals and groups within the school. The post holder will work alongside the wider departments in the school trust to further develop and embed systems that will enable the school to improve attendance. You will work withparents, families, young people, and the school to respond to absences and reduce levels of persistent absence. Examples of this role will encompass working as a school attendance and welfare support officer, with a caseload of students where the major areaof concern is absence from school. The role will include:• Spotting attendance patterns and issues with students• Where necessary, undertaking home visits where absence has been identified• Working with parents and students to address issues• Contributing to multi-agency working with the schoolREQUIREMENTS FOR ROLE
