Job Description

Senior Data Engineer (Python Spark SQL) *Newcastle Onsite* to £130kDo you have expertise with Data Engineering You could be progressing your career in an impactful role at a start-up Investment Management firm that have secure backing, an established Hedge Fund client as a partner and massive growth potential.As a Senior Data Engineer youll be instrumental in transitioning the core data platform to Azure, managing 3rd party data ingestion and integration. Youll seek ways to improve the data quality and introduce event streaming; youll assess current processesand proactively suggest and recommend technical solutions.Location / WFH: Youll join colleagues in Central Newcastle offices on a full-time basis (Monday to Friday).About you:

  • You have an academic record of achievement, minimum 2.1 at BSc from a top tier university, Computer Science or similar technical / scientific discipline, backed by minimum A A B grades at A-level
  • You have strong Data Engineering experience with SQL, Apache Spark and Python including PySpark and Pandas
  • You have a strong knowledge of modern data engineering best practices
  • Ideally you will also have experience with Azure and Data Bricks
  • Youre excited to join a start-up in a role that you can shape and influence
  • Youre collaborative with excellent communication skills
