Job Description

Are you a Primary Teacher looking for a new Primary Teacher role in Islington Do you enjoy supporting key stage 1 children with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Primary Teacher to join this well-established PRU in Islington. You will be working with 5-7 year olds who have found mainstream education difficult.The School:The school supports children from Islington primary schools with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs who have either been permanently excluded or are on a short-term placement. A high number of our pupils also have an additional diagnosis of autismand/or ADHD. We work with pupils whose special educational needs mean that accessing mainstream provision is too difficult for them and they require a higher level of support. There are small classrooms of up to six pupils, with a high staff-to-pupil ratio,ensuring that children are given the correct support when needed across the school day.As a Primary teacher you will be responsible for the below:

  • Planning and delivering lessons whilst assessing progress
  • Working with the support staff to put in place and run interventions
  • Support behaviour by following the childrens plans
  • Updating and setting targets for children.
  • Working alongside the SENCO and other professionals in the support network
To join us and be successful in this role you will ideally need :
  • QTS
  • Knowledge of the KS2 curriculum
  • Previous experience working within SEMH
  • An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
  • Legal right to work in the UK
