Job Description

Overseeing the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organisational structure adequate for achieving the departments goals and objectives
Producing financial reports and developing strategies based on financial research
Guiding financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures
Protecting assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls
Maximising return and limiting risk by managing bank balances
Complying with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
Keeping up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional area to increase innovation and ensure compliance
Coordinating with external auditors and managing internal controls

ProfileA successful Assistant Finance Manager should have:

A relevant degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
Proven experience as a finance manager in the not for profit sector
Excellent organisational and leadership skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
A strong understanding of data analysis and forecasting
Proficiency in MS Office and finance software
