Job Description

Anglian Waters Major Infrastructure Team helps to meet tomorrows challenges today, by planning and delivering high-quality major infrastructure for the East of England that will help address major future challenges such as securing water supply for futuregenerations, reaching net zero, adapting to climate change and restoring the environment. Delivering new jobs, improved opportunities for people in communities across the region and boosting local economies.Our Major Infrastructure team are involved in a number of major infrastructure projects, more widely known as Nationally Significant Infrastructure projects, or NSIPs and other accelerated infrastructure schemes. They are transformational projects that, ifdelivered, could contribute greatly to Anglian Waters purpose (to bring environmental and social prosperity to the region we serve through our commitment to love every drop) and meeting our strategic direction objectives. The ones you may already be familiarwith are: Cambridge Waste Water Treatment Plant Relocation project and our two new proposed reservoirs in Lincolnshire and the Fens.We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Director-level individual to join our team. This is a client-sided role to support the Cambridge project to ensure that it successfully delivers the businesses strategic and resilience asset needs and customeroutcomes.The role will provide leadership and strategic input as a member of the Cambridge Waste-Water Treatment Relocation Project (CWWTRP) Management Team.Key accountabilities:

  • Be accountable for the overall commercial and cost performance of CWWTRP (including both Anglian Water and Consortia elements - the latter in-so-far as holding the consortia to account for pre-agreed budgets).
  • Build strong partner relationships to drive collaboration and integration. Utilise these to achieve better value.
  • Lead and manage the Commercial and Performance Management teams in CWWTRP to deliver the allocated investment programme with outperformance. Critical is the achievement of outperformance (within the allocated capital investment programme) across all commercialmeasures - in particular, the affordability challenge, ensuring optimum return for partners and the Client.
  • Develop an overall performance structure that includes all performance and efficiency measures including TOTEX targets and investment profile. Manage and report on KPI and KRMs.
  • Be responsible for cost and performance indicator assurance across CWWTRP.
What will you be doing:
  • Providing visible Heath, Safety and Wellbeing leadership
  • Actively promote and achieve Health & Safety objectives by demonstrating the importance of Health, Safety and Wellbeing
  • Manage and report on the financial position of CWWTRP utilising the Clients commercial systems. Typically, the production of management accounts including investment / expenditure.
  • Ensure the business plan is fully supported with "fit for purpose" financial and commercial processes to enable regular and accurate updates & reporting. Work to the goal of "One version Of The Truth." Lead Commercial Team to do the same.
  • Develop and manage a commercial performance structure for CWWTRP.
