Trade Compliance ManagerPermanent PositionCompetitive Salary, Car allowance, 10% bonus, Pension 10%, 25 days Holidays+ Bank HolidaysMonday- Thursday 8.30am-5pm, Friday 8.30am-2.30pmTamworthAre you a Trade Compliance Manager who has extensive experience working within a highly regulated industry Our client is a large, growing, and well-respected manufacturing business, who supply primarily into the aerospace and defence markets. Theyrelooking for an experienced Trade Compliance Manager to join the business and the ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of export control classification (ECN, ML, ITAR), and will have proven experience developing and managing export licenses (OGEL, SIEL,OIEL, UK GEA, WDA, TAA).Trade Compliance ManagerJob Description

  • Responsible for ensuring all UK sites (3) are in full compliance with the import and export laws of the United Kingdom and all countries where they do business
  • Make sure the business is compliant with trade regulations, which will be achieved through a centralized and standardized process of classification, certification, and verification of import/export activities
  • Sign documents and file reports related to import/export shipments
  • Conduct periodic internal and external compliance assessments of the UK facilities
  • Develop and manage an Inward Process Relief and Customs Warehouse program
  • Function as an expert resource to the business in the areas of import/export transactions, policies and procedures with a strategic focus to streamline efficiencies, eliminate waste, and utilize emerging tools
  • Design, implement and manage a robust trade compliance program for the business
  • Develop and deliver an ongoing, tailored training program that includes export control and technology, AEO compliance, Corporate Trade Standards, general awareness, risk identification, and escalation
  • Develop and maintain country specific import/export matrices to include classifications, license requirements and shipment restrictions, including leading a reclassification project
  • Represent the business in dealings with customers, suppliers, plants, BU and RU personnel as well as government agencies in response to general inquiries on shipments or licenses. i.e. HMRC, ECJU
Trade Compliance ManagerEssential Skills/Experience/Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in a customs and export compliance or similar government role
  • Solid understanding and experience assigning export control classification (ECN, ML, ITAR a plus)
  • Proven experience developing and managing export licenses (OGEL, SIEL, OIEL, UK GEA, WDA, TAA)
  • Well-versed administering IPR programs
  • Strong knowledge and working understanding of international trade rules and regulations, including customs and export compliance, process control and internal audits. (Classification, Customs entry process, customs invoicing requirements, valuation, Incoterms)
Trade Compliance ManagerDesirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications
  • Previous experience working within the aerospace industry
