Job Description

Health & Safety Advisor Permanent Opportunity via BRCJobs: Health & Safety Advisor Location:Plymouth Sector: Property and Housing Contract: Permanent Salary:£45,800BRC are working with a Housing Association in Devon who are looking to recruit for a health and safety advisor on a permanent basis to support them in meeting statutory and non-statutory health and safety obligationsMain Responsibilities:

  1. Providing professional advisory service for all areas of health and safety management including risk assessment, workplace inspections and investigating and reporting on any accidents and dangerous occurrences
  2. Provide a professional advisory service embracing all areas of health and safety management including, developing and maintaining risk assessments, conducting workplace inspections and incident investigation, reporting incidents meeting RIDDOR criteria,identifying areas for improvement
  3. Develop, implement, evaluate and review H&S strategies, policies, framework, procedures and effective management practices
  4. Assist management in undertaking risk assessments, workplace inspections and audits
  5. Ensure any changes to legislation, codes of practice, policies and procedures are identified and implemented and provide a understandable interpretation of health & safety legislation
  6. To proactively identify where Health and Safety management practices can be improved – implementing solutions to improve the health and safety performance
  7. Prepare Health and Safety reports and statistical information and when necessary present reports at Committee Meetings
  8. To collate and analyse accident statistics and recommend preventative intervention strategies to reduce occupational ill health incidences
Job Requirements
  • Full Driving Licence
  • NEBOSH or NVQ Level 6 qualification
  • Certified IOSH and above
