The posts are for 30.75 hours per week (including 2 hour meetings on alternate Thursdays), 39 weeks per year (term time plus 5 days INSET).One of our vacancies is within one of our PMLD classes and candidates for this post will need experience of working with pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties, as well as a British Sign Language (BSL) qualification at Level 2 or above.Whilst experience of working in a special school would be an advantage, it is not essential. We provide all staff with a full week of induction training, which includes Moving and Handling, Makaton, Pool Evacuation, Behaviour and Safeguarding Training. We are committed to providing aspirational outcomes for all our students and we will provide regular specialist training for all staff, throughout their careers at Foreland Fields School.Candidates must be qualified to at least GCSE Grade C or above in both English and Maths or equivalent Level 2 Qualification so as to undertake essential record keeping.Having a relevant qualification, such as NVQ Supporting Teaching and Learning, or BSL (British Sign Language) would be desirable, but not essential.
