Were looking for an enthusiastic Purchasing Assistant / Junior Buyer to join our team in Biggleswade. Youll be joining a manufacturer and supplier of mostly bespoke end-of-line packaging machinery. Ideally with stock management experience and exposureto ERP systems this is a real opportunity to stand out in a small but established team.BASIC SALARY: £25,000 - £35,000BENEFITS:· 5% Pension · 24 Days Holiday · 3 x Death in ServiceLOCATION:BiggleswadeCOMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Bedford, Hitchin, Letchworth Garden City, Stevenage, Royston, Cambridge, St Neots, Luton, Shefford, Flitwick,JOB DESCRIPTION:Junior Buyer, Purchasing Assistant - Packaging Machinery, ManufacturingReporting to the Purchasing and Finance Manager your role as our Junior Buyer will be to assist with the purchasing of parts, control and management of stock holding and learning a new ERP system. You will be heavily involved in supplier relationships and beworking closely with the sales and design teams.In addition to this you will: · Work in a small purchasing team looking after circa £3 million of costs per annum - fabricated metal from the UK and parts from Europe mostly, but also Asia and some smaller machines from Taiwan · Chase up late deliveries · Champion our new ERP system · Develop and maintain a robust framework for stock control · Research and grow our current supplier listPERSON SPECIFICATION:Junior Buyer, Purchasing Assistant - Packaging Machinery, ManufacturingYoull have a proven track record of working in a purchasing environment. Ideally, youll have worked closely with stock management and have some exposure to ERP systems, although well consider a variation of background.Whats most important to us is: · You will be able to demonstrate a desire to get the job done and work as part of our small team. · Youll have a can-do attitude and take on any task to ensure we reach our objectives. · You will be keen to improve process and SOPs as well as SLAs.COMPANY:We specialise in the design, manufacture, and installation of high-quality end-of-line packaging machinery.
